Cruisers Ice Creamery & Refreshments

While waiting for the boat to dock you can sit, relax and enjoy the scenery at Cruisers Ice Creamery and Refreshment Kiosk. We provide hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks and a wide selection of ice creams.

Christmas Park & Sail

On the six Saturdays before Christmas, a special Park and Sail service is operated between Allington Lock and Maidstone Town Centre commissioned by Maidstone Borough Council. This means shoppers can park for free at the Museum of Kent Life and cruise with ease into the bustling town. The vessel is fully heated, with a licensed bar and disabled access. It leaves every hour from 9am and returns to Allington for the last time at 5.30pm. This service is signposted from the A229, Running Horse/M20 roundabout.

About Us

The Kentish Lady (Hire Cruisers Ltd) was taken over in October 2003 by Tony Cheeseman. He then had the enormous task of refurbishing her which took nearly six months to complete with almost everything internally and externally being altered or replaced giving the boat a new lease of life.

Tony runs the business with his wife Shirley and their daughter Sara, as a team they run the vessel which also includes the riverside cafe, aptly named 'Cruisers'.

They are all from different working backgrounds, including building, personal assistant, beauty and interior design, so the new venture was a very big challenge for everyone.
